"Eichenholz" is not our last name, as many people have asked us when coming into our store. Of course, they then want to know why we chose to name our business
Eichenholz. The reasoning is not as complicated as one might guess. First you should know that the name Eichenholz means something special to the Amish furniture builders who design and craft our wonderful heirloom furniture. "Eichenholz" pronounced (Eye Kin Holtz) translates into "oak wood" in Dutch or German, and as our Amish friends has explained to us, Dutch is to Germany as the American English language is to England. The same language but just not as formal.
When we first decided to open a furniture store, we picked our name with the help of our sister, who was in a marketing class at the time. She suggested we use something that would be both memorable and represent the special products we intended to sell at the store. Eichenholz was a perfect fit.
We are a small, family-owned business and we like it that way because we get to meet and service our customers personally. When you come in to our store chance are either Bradley or Carrie, the owners, will help you pick out your style, wood and stain and then order your furniture. Then in the 6-8 week delivery time, they will probably be the ones who deliver it to your home. We offer delivery free delivery to most areas of Wisconsin, and the greater Chicago area, on any major purchases. Outside that initial area our shipping costs are very reasonable to any place in the Continental United States.
We welcome you to stop in and take a look at the many pieces that we have in the store as well as the selection of furniture we can show you from our many books. Most importantly, we do offer
"custom furniture" which means bring in a picture or design and we will send it on to our Amish builders for a quick price quote. Do not "settle" on something that you really do not love. Make it be something special that you will love for years to come!
